Introducing… Cawood Anchor USA

Jen December 30, 2021 Cawood Anchor USA, Ground Sheet Stake, Guy Line Anchor, New Business Comments are off 1641 Views

We have exciting news! Finally, after about a year of work (and a lot of patience) we are up and running with out business. Let me give you a little background on how Cawood Anchor USA came about. While Jared and I traveled through Africa, we would occasionally pick up an item that we thought would be helpful in our daily lives. Of course, these items came back to the States with us. Now back in the US, we still use these items and occasionally someone will comment on how cool it is and ask us where they can get some. Some of the items we purchased in Africa aren’t available in the States. But why couldn’t they be? So, we decided to import and sell them. The most popular items are some specific use tent stakes we found on our trip. So, we contacted the manufacturer in South Africa, Cawood Anchor Manufacturing, and chatted with him about the products they make and their thoughts about offering up some of these products in the US. They were delighted at this prospect, and in short time we became the sole US importer for Cawood Anchor. Then the hard part… getting product to the States. Given the current state of the world, this took much longer than expected. But, finally, here we are!

What is it exactly that we are importing you ask?

The first item is a Ground Sheet Stake.

They are used for holding down a sand mat, ground sheet or RV carpet, just to name a few. The have a very low profile, which means they aren’t a tripping hazard. They are one piece, so easy to keep track of. They are made of electroplated spring steel and thus, they are strong and corrosion resistant. These Ground Sheet Stakes are sold in a 4 pack. Currently they are available on Amazon and qualify for Prime.

Our second product is the Guy Line Anchor.

They are the anchor in the ground that attaches to the guy line from your awning or rain fly, just to name a few. They are one piece, so easy to keep track of. They are made of electroplated spring steel, thus they are strong and corrosion resistant. The spring steel also allows for some flex in windy conditions and the unique shape actually pulls the Guy Line Anchor deeper into the ground when it flexes. Cawood Anchor makes multiple sizes, but we are currently carrying the Medium Guy Line Anchor in stock and other sizes will be special order, unless the demand suggests otherwise. The Medium Guy Line Anchor is currently available for purchase on Amazon and qualifies for Prime.

  • Drive the pointed end into the ground at 45 degrees
  • Keep the hooked end parallel with the ground
  • Slip the guy line onto the hooked end and finish driving to ground level
  • Flexes in windy conditions

You can check out the website Cawood Anchor USA for more pictures, videos and general information about these new to the USA products. You will also find a link to Amazon on the “Where to Buy” page. As these are new products that have yet to have any sales or reviews, they are quite hard to find, so this is the easiest way to find them.

Some might say that we have a lot of spices… I w Some might say that we have a lot of spices… I would agree. But we don’t like to skimp on flavor and are always up for new recipes.
Today was a spice inventory day. Top up the spice jars and figure out where we are lacking.
I like to buy my spices from @thespicehouse . They are a great quality spice, but the seller for me, apart from other quality spice providers is their Flat Packs! They cost about the same as a jar of spice in the grocery store, but come in this great resealable flat package, and a bit larger quantity. I don’t need more spice jars, just more spice! Also, flat packs ship free! They are a great option for us foodies that live on the road.

Not quite the trip to Tucson we had envisioned. W Not quite the trip to Tucson we had envisioned. We had grand plans of connecting up with a multitude of friends, instead we hung out in camp with colds. Thankfully the sunsets and saguaros kept us company!
Dried mushrooms are a great add to some dishes. B Dried mushrooms are a great add to some dishes. But grating them is a bigger task than I prefer. We have this great little gadget that fits on our immersion blender that acts as a small food processor and spice grinder.
So today, in preparation for tonights dinner, beef and mushroom ramen (not from a package) I made mushroom powder to add to the broth.
