A Simple Way to Support Us Through Your Normal Shopping

Jen March 15, 2016 Comments are off 3118 Views

We have become fans of Amazon over the years.  Honestly, it is convenient, and when price shopping, it often cannot be beat.  Thus, when we discovered that Amazon had an affiliate program, where we provide advertising for them on our website and in return we receive a percentage of the purchases that are made when clicking through our site, it was a bit of a “no brainer” for us. In our two plus years of research and reading other peoples travel websites, one thing we notice is many have a “donate” or “buy us a beer” button where one is able to give money directly to travelers.  This is NOT for us!  From the beginning we have said that we will travel as long as we are able to afford it by our own means and financial charity from others is not how we want to travel.  That is why the affiliate program through Amazon feels to be a good fit for us.  We place advertising links on our website and when you, your family and friends click to Amazon through our website, we receive a percentage of the amount of your purchases.  The prices you pay are the same and notice no difference in your purchasing experience after clicking through our website.

On our main page you will find a link to Amazon by scrolling down, on the left hand side of the page.  You may either click on the Amazon logo or enter what you are looking for in the search bar.

We also have set up an Amazon store, which allows us to showcase gear we use and consider worthwhile, within the page “gear we use”.  We wanted a place within our website that we could highlight some of the gear we use that others may find useful.  By utilizing the affiliate program with this page, it can be a one stop shop for you, and we get paid, by Amazon, a percentage as an advertising fee.

To summarize, by clicking through our website to access Amazon we will receive a percentage of what you spent as an advertising kickback from Amazon.  This does not affect the price you pay for the product and your purchases are directly through Amazon.  Thus, they also remain as safe and secure of a purchase process as they normally are.

Some might say that we have a lot of spices… I w Some might say that we have a lot of spices… I would agree. But we don’t like to skimp on flavor and are always up for new recipes.
Today was a spice inventory day. Top up the spice jars and figure out where we are lacking.
I like to buy my spices from @thespicehouse . They are a great quality spice, but the seller for me, apart from other quality spice providers is their Flat Packs! They cost about the same as a jar of spice in the grocery store, but come in this great resealable flat package, and a bit larger quantity. I don’t need more spice jars, just more spice! Also, flat packs ship free! They are a great option for us foodies that live on the road.

Not quite the trip to Tucson we had envisioned. W Not quite the trip to Tucson we had envisioned. We had grand plans of connecting up with a multitude of friends, instead we hung out in camp with colds. Thankfully the sunsets and saguaros kept us company!
Dried mushrooms are a great add to some dishes. B Dried mushrooms are a great add to some dishes. But grating them is a bigger task than I prefer. We have this great little gadget that fits on our immersion blender that acts as a small food processor and spice grinder.
So today, in preparation for tonights dinner, beef and mushroom ramen (not from a package) I made mushroom powder to add to the broth.
